Levy County Detention Bureau, Bronson, Florida

According to the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), five people were arrested during two traffic stops that occurred in Bronson, Florida on Feb. 1 and 2.

Monday, Feb. 1, 2021

On Feb. 1, detectives with the LCSO Criminal Investigations Division conducted a traffic stop on a gray Dodge truck that had an altered tag. The driver, 49 year-old Kash Allen Carver of Bronson, fled from detectives because his license had been suspended, and he did not want to go to jail. However, he was apprehended by detectives, a short distance away.   

Carver and his two passengers, Edward Lee Garcia, 29, and Amber Dawn Russell, 34, also of Bronson, were all found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and were each charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Garcia's bond was set at $25,000; Carver's bond was set at $20,000, and Russell's bond was set at $15,000.

Tuesdsay, Feb. 2, 2021

On Feb. 2, the LCSO Patrol Division found a disabled silver Buick that was blocking the roadway on the outskirts of Bronson. The car belonged to 39 year-old Nicole Elaine McPherson of Bronson, who was placed under arrest on a warrant for failure to appear in court. When deputies saw the handle of a gun sticking out from under the driver’s seat where she'd been sitting, Ms. McPherson was charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon; she was also charged with possession of drug equipment ($82,000 bond). McPherson was also charged with carrying a concealed firearm, with her bond set at release on her own recognizance.

McPherson's passenger, Patrick McLaughlin, 54, also of Bronson, told deputies they'd run out of gas and were waiting for a friend to arrive to help them. McLaughlin was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and morphine. He was charged with possession of greater than 14 grams of methamphetamine, which is considered trafficking in methamphetamine; and possessjion of a controlled substance without a prescription ($125,000 bond).
