Bronson, Florida - On July 1, 2025, 65 year-old sexual predator Jeffery Lashley of Rosewood (Levy County), Florida was arrested by Levy County Sheriff's Office Detective Cody Weaver on sexual predator registration violations. At that time, Lashley was incarcerated at the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida with his bond set at $200,000.

Regardless of the incarceration status of a suspect, an investigation continues until a suspect goes to trial. Upon Lashley's arrest, Detective Weaver seized Lashley’s cell phone, and as the investigation continued, Detective Weaver sought a search warrant for his phone.

During the search of Lashley's phone, Detective Weaver found evidence that Lashley had searched for and downloaded videos on his phone of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). On July 10, 2025, after an extensive forensic review of the contents of Lashley’s phone was completed, additional charges were filed against Lashley for 16 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.

These new charges were reviewed by the Levy County Court Judge during Lashley's first appearance in court for the new charges, on Friday morning, July 11, 2025, and an additional $800,000 bond was set for the new, additional charges, bringing Lashley total bond to $1 million.
