Citrus County, Florida - On Thursday, February 6, 2025, 60 year-old Terry Lee Patricoff of Floral City, Florida was arrested by law enforcement officers as the result of a search warrant executed at his home.
The search warrant was executed by detectives with the CCSO High Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU), CCSO Criminal Investigation Division (CID), and agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
The search warrant was obtained as the result of an investigation by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) High Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) into a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), that child sexual abuse material was being viewed by way of the internet from a residence within Citrus County.
Detective Patrick Martin with the CCSO High Tech Crimes Unit, began an investigation into the cyber tip. He located the residence the child sexual abuse material had been accessed from and identified Terry Lee Patricoff as a resident of that location in Floral City and obtained a search warrant for Patricoff's residence.
During he search of Patricoff's residents, officers seized multiple electronic devices belonging to him.
During his investigation, Detective Martin developed probable cause that Patricoff not only possessed, but also transmitted images of child sexual abuse material over the internet. Patricoff was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of transmission of child pornography. He is currently being held at the Citrus County Detention Bureau in Lecanto, Florida with no bond.
Digital forensic examinations will be conducted on the devices seized from Patricoff's residence, which could potentially result in additional criminal charges being filed against him.
"Working cases involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) are emotionally difficult, but also extremely rewarding," said Detective Patrick Martin. "Every time an offender like Patricoff views or sends CSAM, they are promoting the production and distribution of these types of images and videos, victimizing countless children. As investigators, we are thankful that the Citrus County Sheriff's Office gives us the training and cutting-edge digital forensic tools to identify, find, and arrest predators like Patricoff, making our community a safer place."
