Bronson Middle School teacher arrested, accused of sexual relationship with a minor

Bronson, Florida - On January 8, 2025, detectives with the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) arrested 33 year-old Jonathan Rafael Irizarry, of Bronson, Florida, who is a teacher employed by the School Board of Levy County.
He was booked into the Levy County Detention Bureau on multiple charges, based on witness testimony and digital evidence, that he was involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with a minor.
Jonathan Irizarry is employed at Bronson Middle High School (BMHS) as a English and Theatre teacher. He also worked as the school “High Q” team coach. Irizarry has been employed at BMHS since 2020. As a result of his arrest, Irizarry has been suspended from his employment by the School Board.
Irizarry was booked into the Levy County Detention Center at 8:40 am. At his first court appearance on January 9, 2025, Irizarry was charged with 5 counts of sexual assault of a person between the ages of 16 to 17 by a person age 24 or older, with his total bond set at $500,000 ($100,000 on each count).
None of the evidence indicated there are other victims or that any of the crimes occurred on the school campus.
