Sheriff David Vincent sworn in as 13th sheriff of Citrus County, Florida

Citrus County, Florida - On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Sheriff David Vincent was sworn in as the 13th Sheriff of Citrus County, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the community he has served for over three decades.
"As your Sheriff, I am honored and eager to serve my community with integrity and accountability. I am committed to ensuring the safety of our citizens and visitors, while fostering a strong, community-focused approach to law enforcement," said Sheriff Vincent. "I look forward to building lasting relationships that strengthen our community. One Community, One Goal!"
Sheriff Vincent began his career at the Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) in 1993 as a 9-1-1 operator. Over his 27 years with the CCSO, he steadily rose through the ranks, gaining invaluable experience in various divisions. He eventually retired in 2020 as Captain of the Special Operations Division. After his retirement, Sheriff Vincent took on the role of Chief of Police for the Citrus County School District.
In August of 2024, Sheriff Vincent was elected to serve as the 13th Sheriff of Citrus County. With an extensive background in law enforcement, including several leadership positions with the CCSO, he is committed to a community-first approach to ensure the safety of Citrus County:
