Inverness man killed in shooting that occurred in Rainbow Lakes Estates, Dunnellon

According to the Marion County (Florida) Sheriff's Office, 41 year-old Jeffery Robbins of Inverness, Florida, formerly of Dunnellon, Florida, was the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning, December 14, 2024 in Dunnellon, Florida.

At approximately 3:00 a.m. that morning, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to a location in the 1200 block of S.W. Shorewood Dr. in the Rainbow Lakes Estate subdivision of Dunnellon, due to a reported shooting. Deputies arrived at the location to find a white adult male, later identified as Jeffery Robbins, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Major Crimes detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, all parties involved in the incident have been accounted for and are being interviewed. Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances leading to the shooting, and the agency will provide updates as more information becomes available.
