UPDATED: James Wiley Nichols, 74, of Inglis, FL, was arrested at a Shearer St., Inglis residence by the Levy County Sheriff's Office at 8:00 am on Dec. 6, 2024, on a Levy County warrant charging him with fraud due to concealing, misrepresenting or maintaining a vessel's identification (release on his own recognizance bond).

Gerardo Ortega, 40, of an unstated location of residence within Florida, was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol, Dec. 8, 2024, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs ($10,000 bond) and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license (release on his own recognizance bond).

UPDATED: Rana Ramkissoon, 50, of Dunnellon, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office at the Probation and Parole Office in Chiefland, FL, Dec. 4, 2024, on a Levy County, FL warrant charging him with battery - a repeat offense, possession of a firearm, ammunition or electronic weapon by a convicted Florida felon, and obstruction of justice by tampering with a witness, victim or informant of a second degree felony proceeding ($125,000 bond).

UPDATED: James Scott Schutt, 59, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Dec. 7, 2024, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (release on his own recognizance bond). According to the arrest report, a traffic stop was conducted on a while Chevrolet truck, on Hammock Rd. in Inglis, due to the truck having no operating tag light. Schutt was the driver of the truck. The deputy reported, that during the traffic stop, Schutt smelled of alcohol, and his eyes were glossy and bloodshot; that he told the deputy he'd consumed a couple of drinks at a bar. Schutt submitted to roadside sobriety testing. After being placed under arrest, Schutt refused to submit to breath alcohol testing, even after being informed that failing to submit to the testing could result in his driver's license being suspended for a year, the report stated.

Leola Smith, 39, of Chiefland, FL, was arrested by the Chiefland Police Department, Dec. 4, 2024, charged with battery ($2,500 bond).

Ravonn Jonzell Smith, 26, of Archer, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Dec. 8, 2024, charged with two sex offender violations: failing to register as a sex offender as required by law, and failing to comply with registration law ($50,000 bond). He was also charged with resisting an officer with violence ($50,000 bond) and probation violation (no bond).

Shaun Stott, 51, of Chiefland, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Dec. 3, 2024, charged with driving while license suspended, second offense, with his bond set at credit for time served.

Gary Vanwinkle, 44, of Fanning Springs, FL, was arrested by the Chiefland (Florida) Police Department, Dec. 2, 2024, charged with violation of a condition of release (no bond).
