UPDATED: Antoine Raphael Williams, 33, of Bronson, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), Nov. 24, 2024, charged with battery, firing a weapon on a residential property, robbery by sudden snatching while armed with a firearm, and obstruction of justice by tampering in a second-degree felony proceeding (no bond).
The arrest report stated that LCSO deputies were summoned to a Bronson residence, and when they arrived on scene, Williams, who was in possession of a firearm, had fled from the location in a red Honda four-door sedan, and had a small child with him, according to the victim.
The victim told the deputy that she and Williams had been arguing most of the day, and they got into a scuffle when he grabbed her cell phone from her, and she attempted to get it back. During the scuffle, she said, Williams placed his hand around her throat, although he did not restrict her breathing. She said that Williams was visibly upset, and she attempted to prevent him from going to his car because she was fearful he would get his gun and use it against her or her family. She said she retrieved her phone and called 9-1-1, and then ran outside in an attempt to get Williams' gun. She said he tackled her to the ground to prevent it, and once again grabbed her phone from her. She said he went to his car, got his gun, and fired a round into the air to frighten her, then took her phone and the small child into the car with him and drove away.
When a 9-1-1 operator lost phone contact with the victim, they called her back, and Williams, who was then driving his car, answered the victim's phone.
Another deputy located Williams' vehicle, traveling west on County Road 102, heading toward County Road 337, and conducted a traffic stop. The report stated that Williams told the deputy that it had been a while since he fired his gun. He said there were 11 cartridges, but the deputy found 10 cartridges in the magazine. He first told the deputy that he'd been "poked in the face," by the victim, but later stated he'd been slapped with an open hand to the left side of his face, although the report stated there were no marks to Williams' face. The victim's phone, which had sand on it, was found inside Williams' vehicle.
The arrest report stated that the victim had red marks and scratches to her chest, and dirt on her clothing that was consistent with her account of a struggle and being tackled to the ground. A 9mm shell casing was also found in the front yard, lying on top of the dirt and smelled of gunpowder, indicating that it had been fired recently. The ammunition in Williams' gun matched the 9mm shell casing found in the victim's front yard.
A witness at the home told the deputy that he heard yelling and went to the location of the yelling and saw Williams with his hands around the victim's neck.
Jamie Wilson, 38, of Williston, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Nov. 21, 2024, on an out of county warrant (no bond).
Julius Wright, IV, 27, of Bronson, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, (LCSO) Nov. 21, 2024, charged with tampering with an electronic monitoring device, and resisting or obstructing a law enforcement officer without violence ($35,000 bond). He was also charged with five counts of failure to appear in court (no bond).
On July 20, 2024 Wright was released from custody after being arrested for numerous thefts, home burglaries and weapons offenses. He was ordered by the court to wear an ankle monitoring device and remain at his residence in Bronson.
According to the LCSO, several weeks prior to his Nov. 21 arrest, Wright had removed his ankle monitoring device and embarked on another crime spree. Wright is a person of interest in several ongoing LCSO investigations into burglaries that occurred in Bronson, FL and Williston, FL. The LCSO had also secured six warrants for Wright's arrest for failing to appear in court on charges relating to his July 2024 arrest. The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) was also seeking to arrest Wright as the result of a recent burglary investigation where he'd fled from ACSO deputies in order to avoid arrest.
At 1:30 pm on Nov. 21, 2021, LCSO detectives received a tip that Wright had been seen entering a home in Bronson. Detectives arrived at the location and secured the perimeter of the home, suspecting that Wright was hiding inside. Wright is known to carry firearms, and detectives had found evidence indicating that he was possibly in possession of a gun at the time the house was surrounded by detectives. When Wright did not surrender to detectives, the LCSO Tactical Response Unit and the ACSO Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team were summoned to the location and used a robot to safely search the home around 7:30 pm - but Wright was not found inside the home. However, less than an hour later, he was found hiding in another home, several blocks away, and was taken into custody.
