A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, driven by Mr. Steele, who declined to speak with deputies about the incident, according to the arrest report. A deputy spoke with a woman at the residence where the altercation had occurred. The woman told deputies that she works as a bartender in Citrus County, and earlier in the evening, she and Mr. Steele had gotten into an argument at her workplace because he'd consumed too much alcohol, and he was being aggressive, so her employer had contacted the Citrus County Sheriff's Office to have him trespassed from the bar. She said, when she returned to her residence, Steel was there, even more intoxicated, and they had gotten into another argument, during which he'd thrown items inside the bedroom, and he'd also choked her, stopping her ability to breathe, before throwing her onto the bed and gathering his belongings. She said that she went onto the front porch, and another person came to the residence. She told deputies that Steele charged at the man who'd arrived at the residence, and the two men got into a physical altercation. She said that Steele then kicked in the front door, went onto the porch, and threw her onto the porch railing, breaking the railing and injuring her, and he then left the residence, driving the truck. The woman was transported to a hospital due to her injuries, the report stated. Steele was found to be in possession of a Tramadol 50 mg tablet, a Schedule IV controlled substance that was located inside his truck, that he had no prescription for, according to the report.
