UPDATED: Jodi Ann Moon, 49, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, August 12, charged with knowingly making a false report of an alleged crime to a law enforcement officer ($10,000 bond). The arrest report stated that Ms. Moon met with a deputy outside Inglis Drugs, located at 345 Highway 40 West in Inglis, FL, and she told the deputy that the previous day (Aug. 11) she'd picked up prescriptions from the pharmacy between 1:00 and 2:00 pm, then traveled to the Family Dollar store to shop, and when she returned home, she learned that all of her prescriptions had been taken from the pharmacy bag. According to the pharmacy's records, Ms. Hobbs had picked up her prescription on Aug. 9, not Aug. 11, one of which was alprazolam, a Schedule IV controlled substance, and she'd told the clerk that her prescriptions had been taken the previous night, not the previous afternoon as she'd told the deputy. According to the security video from the Family Dollar store, Ms. Hobbs had not been inside the store the previous afternoon as she'd claimed, and the deputy reported that Ms. Moon claimed that she'd purchased a package of cigarettes from a male store clerk on Aug. 11, although a female clerk, not a male clerk, was working at the store. When the deputy confronted Ms. Moon with the conflicting information, she admitted she'd fabricated the story because she'd taken all of her alprazolam and would need a police report of the alleged medication theft for her doctor to order more, the report stated.
