UPDATED: Debra Ann Bohon, 59, of Yankeetown, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, March 12, charged with battery of a person age 65 or older, and animal cruelty. Her bond was set at release on her own recognizance. The victim told a deputy, about 8:43 am, he was walking his dog on the sidewalk of Highway 40 West, between 65th St and 66th St. in Yankeetown, when Ms. Boho, his neighbor, pulled in front of him, blocking his path on the sidewak. He said she told him in an obscene manner to stop bothering his cats, and then sprayed both he and his dog with pepper spray. He said he went down to the ground, and his dog ran into the road, and several passers-by stopped to help them. The victim contacted a friend, who in turn contacted 911. Paramedica and Inglis Fire Rescue treated the victim and his dog for the irritation caused by the pepper spray. The deputy reported that the victim's face was red, and the dog was rubbing and scratching his face, and did not appear to be aggressive. Ms. Bohon told the deputy that she found six of her cats missing that morning, and she believed that the victim had done something with them, so when she saw the victim walking his dog, she confronted him. She said the victim attacked her, grabbing her by her arm and face, and she sprayed pepper spray on the victim and the dog when the dog jumped on her.
