Vivan D. Fletcher, 35, the suspect of a murder committed in Columbus, Georgia on August 8, 2020, was arrested Wednesday morning, March 3, at a residence in the 1100 block of NE 2nd Avenue in Williston, Florida, where she was hiding out with Bobby Frank Sherman, 28, of Gainesville, Florida, who was wanted on a Levy County, Florida arrest warrant for violation of his probation for possession of amphetamine.
Both are being held at the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida. Ms. Fletcher is awaiting extradition to Georgia, and Mr. Sherman's bond was set at none, per his warrant.
Ms. Fletcher was arrested through the combined efforts of several law enforcement agencies, the United States Marshals Service Florida/Caribbean Fugitive Task Force, the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, and the Williston Police Department. A murder warrant for Ms. Fletcher's arrest had been issued from the State of Georgia in August 2020, and Fletcher had been hiding from law enforcement since that time.
According to the Ledger-Enquirer newspaper in Columbus, Georgia, Ms. Fletcher was wanted on one count of murder and one count of possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, related to the Aug. 8, 2020 stabbing of 31 year-old Antonio Blanding. The article said, about 2:30 am, Aug. 8, police officers responded to a call at 32nd Ave., between Cusseta Rd. and Lee St., and found the injured Mr. Blanding, who later died of his injuries.
