Obituary, David Alan Crawford, 51, Nashville, Arkansas
July 23, 1969 - June 8, 2021

On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, David Alan Crawford, 51, of Nashville, Arkansas, a loving husband, father and brother, passed away, surrounded by his family, at Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

David was born on July 23, 1969, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Eugene and Stella Crawford. He attended school in Norphlet, Arkansas. He loved sports! In his 20s and 30s, David was a professional wrestler in Arkansas. In 2017, he received the honor of being inducted into the Arkansas Wrestling Hall of Fame. Most of his adult life was spent umpiring, coaching, or volunteering in any way he could. He spent many years volunteering with the El Dorado and Smackover/Norphlet football teams.

On May 9, 2020, David married Laura Watson, formerly of Inglis, Florida and Gulf Hammock, Florida. David's and Laura's time together was short, but such a blessing to them both. David moved to Nashville, Arkansas with his loving wife, Laura, and immediately found Nashville's football program and began volunteering with it.

David, who never met a stranger and treated everyone as a friend, was affectionately known as "Sue" and "Maniac" in his younger years. He loved to talk and would spend hours, calling on friends and loved ones to check on them.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Stella (Andfelt) Crawford, maternal grandparents, Henry and Anna Anfeldt, and paternal grandparents, Dorthey Pepper and Ray Spooner.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; daughter, Laken Crawford (Devin Howe); grandchildren, Patrick and Jasper; brother, Chip Crawford (Valerie); sister, Stacy King (Lance), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and numerous close family friends.

A memorial service was held by David's family on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Northwest Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas at 3:00 p.m. His cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood, Arkansas. An online guest book is available at www.davis-smith.com.
