Making the Most of Family Celebrations
Family celebrations are often filled with sharing, laughter, and memories. They could also bring stress, disappointment, or sadness. Due to life changes and experiences, a person living with Alzheimer's may feel a special sense of loss during the holiday period. Caregivers may feel overwhelmed by maintaining traditions while providing care and adhering to safety precautions. Join us as we discuss creative strategies for self-care, as well as how to involve individuals living with memory impairment in planning, preparing, and celebrating. REGISTER HERE: alzprogramsanytime.org/register/making-the-most-of-family-celebrations.
Monday, March 25, 10:00 a.m. EDT
Effective Communication Strategies
Communication is more than just talking and listening, it's also about sending and receiving messages through attitude, tone of voice, and body language. As the disease progresses, individuals living with Alzheimer's or other dementias lose the ability to use words, but families can find new ways to connect. Join us to explore how communication changes when someone is living with Alzheimer's, learn how to interpret their verbal and behavioral communication, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
