essentiALZ Plus - Florida, Training and Certification Program
Do you work at a home health, hospice, adult day, nursing home or assisted living community in Florida? If so, we would like to thank you and offer you our person-centered dementia care training at no charge.
The Florida Department of Elder Affairs is providing access to the Alzheimer's Association's essentiALZ Training and Certification Program. This self-paced, online course meets the state mandated training requirement for assisted living level 1, home health, hospice, and nursing homes.
Learn how to apply current evidence-based, person-centered care practices when interacting with individuals who have dementia. The training features videos and interactive activities and includes access to the Alzheimer's Association's essentiALZ certification exam. Individuals who pass the exam are certified in the Alzheimer's Association's essentiALZ, valid for two years.
Professionals who complete the training can claim three continuing nursing education credits or three continuing education credits for social work, physical therapy, psychology, occupational therapy and nutrition/dietitian. Nursing Home Administrators can claim 3.5 hours of continuing education.

Find a Support Group
Support groups create a safe, confidential environment to share concerns while receiving mutual support and engaging in social relationships. They also educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems.
