Medicare Fraud Prevention Week starts on June 5, or 6/5, because most people become eligible for Medicare when they turn 65. Medicare Fraud Prevention Week is hosted by the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) and Serving Health Insurance Needs of Seniors (SHINE).

June 15th is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. This day creates an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.
