Join us to learn about the warning signs of Alzheimer's and how brain imaging may help better diagnose disease.
Peggye Dilworth-Anderson, Ph.D., Gillings School of Public Health, University of North Carolina will speak about New IDEAS, a nationwide research study for people who have memory loss. The study is looking at a type of FDA-approved brain imaging called an amyloid PET scan. New IDEAS is trying to find out if PET scan results can help guide diagnosing and treating of memory conditions.
Next, explore common signs of Alzheimer’s with Alzheimer’s community educator, Tequesta Alston, MSW, Community Liaison, Brain Matters Research. Learn how to approach someone about memory concerns and about the importance of early detection. Also covered are the benefits of a diagnosis, possible tests and assessments for the diagnostic process, and Alzheimer's Association resources.
