Master Gardner volunteer Shelby Jordan (right) was recently celebrated for her twenty-five years of support to the University of Florida/Citrus County Extension Service. As a trained Master Gardener, Shelby teaches gardening classes, helps with youth activities, propogates plants for plant sales, and faithfully staffs the extension office front desk, one day each week.
The University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), Extension Office volunteers collectively donate more than 8,000 hours of service each year to assist citizens and extension agents in a multitude of ways. The extension is grateful for the regular and dedicated volunteers, like Shelby, who are an essential component of the extension's local service.
Citrus County's extension office is located at 3650 W. Sovereign Path # 1, in Lecanto, Florida. Contact the office by phone at (352) 527-5700, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm; or by email at citrus@ifas.ufl.edu.
