Fire destroys Homosassa mobile home

Citrus County, Florida - At 4:05 am on Wednesday, February 17, Citrus County Fire Rescue was distatched to a mobile home fire reported to a S. Strohs Terrace, Homosassa residence. The Engine 3 from Homosassa Fire Station arrived first on scene at 4:12 am to find a single wide mobile home fully involved with fire. Firefighters quickly began extinguishing the fire. A search revealed there were no occupants inside the home. The fire was called under control at 4:21 am. No injuries were reported. Firefighters confirmed with the power company that there was no power to the home. The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate the fire, and crews cleared the scene at 7:33 am.  

Other fire stations and personnel that responded to the fire included Battalion Chief 2, Rescue 7 from Connell Heights, Engine 18 from Sugarmill Woods, Tanker 20 from Pine Ridge, Safety Captain 103, the Rehab Unit from Citrus Springs, and the Crystal River Fire Department.
