Fire, New Year morning, causes total loss of Lecanto shed, but no damage to home

Lecanto, Florida - At 11:37 am on Friday, Jan. 1, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a W. Brandywine St., Lecanto residence, due to the report of a shed on fire. 

Engine 23 from the Kensington Fire Station arrived first on scene at 11:49 am to find an approximately 15 by 15 square foot shed fully involved with fire. Afte an inspection of the fire, Battalion Chief 2 and Engine 18 from the Sugarmil Woods Fire Station were utilized, but the request for additional units was cancelled, and the fire was quickly extinguished with no damage or danger to adjacent structures. The fire was called under control at 11:51 am, and crews cleared the scene at 12:32 pm. 

No injuries were reported. The homeowner was advised to contact the insurance company.
