Man with minor injury and three dogs rescued from Beverly Hills house fire

Beverly Hills, Florida - Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a fire at a S. Tyler St., Beverly Hills, Florida residence, at 1:20 pm, Wednesday afternoon, October 28, 2020.

The Hernando Fire Station arrived first on scene first at 1:30 pm, to find a single-story home with heavy fire and smoke. Firefighters located a downed power line at the rear of the residence, and Duke Energy responded to the location to remove it.

The Hernando fire crew made entry into the residence, encountering heavy smoke, and initiated an interior fire attack. A crew from Kensington Fire Station arrived on scene and knocked down the fire to the exterior of the residence, and then transitioned to the interior of the home to join the Hernando fire crew's offensive attack.

The occupant was able to exit the residence and was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated for a minor injury.  No additional occupants were located inside the home. Three dogs were rescued from the scene.  There were no other injuries.  

The fire was called under control at 1:40 pm, and crews cleared the scene at 5:04 pm. The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to investigate the fire. 
      
Other fire stations that assisted with the fire included Citrus Spring, Pine Ridge, and Connell Heights.
