Civilian suffers minor injury in Beverly Hills fire

Citrus County, Florida - At 8:07 pm on Thursday, October 15, 2020, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire on W. Valerian Place in Beverly Hills, FL. 

Engine 20 from the Pine Ridge Fire Station arrived first on scene, at 8:15 pm, to find a single story residential home with fire located in one bedroom. Firefighters were advised by the residents that everyone was out of the home. 

Crews quickly extinguished the fire, which was deemed under control at 8:20 pm. Red Cross was contacted to assist the 2 displaced adults. The Florida State Fire Marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.  

One civilian sustained a minor injury and was transported for medical care by Nature Coast EMS. Crews cleared the scene at 10:39 pm. 

Other fire stations and personnel who responded to assist with extinguishing the fire included Battalion Chief 1, Kensington Squad 23, Hernando Engine 5, Citrus Springs Engine 14, Rock Crusher Tanker 7, and Captain 103.
