Early morning RV fire in Crystal River destroys 5th-wheel travel trailer

Crystal River, Florida – At 3:37 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched to N. Heart Path in Crystal River due to a reported RV fire.
Firefighters arrived at the location to find a 41-foot Brookstone Coachman 5th-wheel travel trailer fully involved in flames.
A 360-degree walkaround was conducted to secure the utilities. At 3:45 a.m., water was applied to the fire using a pre-connected hose line to begin extinguishment. The fire was brought under control by 3:52 a.m. Crews conducted extensive overhaul and confirmed there were no remaining hazards. All fire units cleared the scene by 4:55 a.m.
The owner of the RV arrived at the location and advised firefighters that a person had been staying in the trailer, part-time. All occupants were accounted for.
The trailer and its contents were deemed a total loss. No injuries were reported.
After the investigation, the cause of the fire remained undetermined, although the fire is believed to be accidental.
