Crystal River, Florida – At 2:55 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2025, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a location on W. Keith Bray Court in Crystal River, due to a reported fire.

The first unit arrived on scene at 3:03 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a fully involved vehicle fire, a detached shed 50% consumed by flames, and an active brush fire spreading on the property.

Due to poor road conditions and narrow access, fire personnel manually deployed hose lines down the driveway and began extinguishment efforts using a ground monitor and high-rise pack.

Numerous units arrived on scene to assist with fire suppression, water supply, and overhaul. Crews contained and extinguished the vehicle and shed fires, while limiting the spread of the brush fire.

Florida Forest Service personnel arrived on scene to assist with firefighting efforts. The remaining brush fire was under control at 3:36 p.m. A tanker brush unit remained on scene until full extinguishment was completed.

The incident resulted in approximately $3,000 in damages. No injuries were reported.

Safety Reminder:
