Shed fire extinguished in Citrus Springs, cause of fire undetermined

Citrus Springs, Florida — At 4:13 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2024, Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to a location on W. Malaluka Circle in Citrus Springs due to a reported shed fire.
First responders arrived to find a large shed fully engulfed in flames. Fire extinguishment began immediately, and no further structures were damaged. The fire was under control as of 4:23 pm. After overhaul and mop up, the last unit cleared the scene at 4:58 pm.
No injuries were reported. Fire rescue was unable to determine what caused the fire and where it originated.
The homeowner reported that he had been working in the shed earlier in the day and when he returned to the shed later, he noticed the fire.
Firefighters from the Citrus Springs and Pine Ridge fire stations arrived on scene, along with a rescue unit.
