N. Duran Ter., Dunnellon residence a total loss from fire

Dunnellon, Florida - At 3:11 am on Thursday, July 13, 2023, Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to a residence on N. Duran Terrace in Dunnellon, due to the report of a fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a double wide mobile home fully involved with fire. The Engine 9 crew from the DeRosa Fire Station established a defensive attack on the fire. The home's residents advised firefighters that all of the occupants had safely evacuated the residence. An inspection of the property was conducted, and the power was secured. Additional crews assisted with the fire suppression. Due to the fire conditions, an extensive mop up was completed. The fire was brought under control as of 3:53 am, and the last unit cleared the scene at 7:32 am. The residence was a total loss. No injuries were reported.  

Firefighters from the Connell Heights, DeRosa, Citrus Springs, Kensington, Hernando, and Pine Ridge fire stations responded to the scene, along with a Safety Captain, a Rescue Unit from the DeRosa Fire Station, and the Rehab Unit from the Citrus Springs Fire Station.
