Homosassa, Florida - At 11:54 pm on Thursday, May 5, 2022, Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to a fire on W. Wildfire Ln. in Homosassa, due to the report of a fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a single wide mobile home fully involved in fire, and the sole occupant of the home being treated by rescue personnel on scene for a non-life-threatening injury. Prior to the occupant's transport to the hospital, he told fire rescue personnel that the residence does not have power, and at the time of the fire, numerous candles were burning throughout the home, and he saw the fire start on the corner of his bed, by his nightstand where a candle was burning, and he exited the structure.
