Fire damages Hernando, FL mobile home being demolished

Citrus County Fire Rescue (CCFR)
Hernando (Citrus County), Florida - At 2:51 pm on Wednesday, December 8, Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to a fire that was reported to a residence on E. Parsons Point Rd. in Hernando. Firefighters arrived on scene to find an approximately 800 square foot single wide mobile home with smoke showing.
Power to the residence was secured, and the fire was located on a wall in the kitchen. Entry was made, and the fire was quickly extinguished. Searches revealed that the residence was vacant. The people at the residence explained to firefighters that they'd been hired to demolish the residence and saw smoke coming from the side of the residence and called for assistance.
The fire was under control at 2:59 pm, and the last unit cleared the scene at 3:28 pm. No injuries were reported. The property did not have working smoke alarms at the time of the fire. Firefighters from the Hernando and Citrus Springs fire stations responded to the fire, along with a Safety Captain.
