Early morning fire destroys Hernando, FL home

Hernando, Florida - Early Thursday morning, Sept. 23, 2021 at 12:40 am, Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to a N. Tamarind Ave., Hernando, Florida home due to the report of a fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a double wide mobile home engulfed in flames, and no one inside the home. The fire was deemed under control at 1:06 am, and the last unit cleared the scene at 3:50 am. The power was disconnected from residence. The home was a total loss, and the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene to investigate the fire. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from the Hernando, Pine Ridge, Kensington, Highlands and Citrus Springs fire stations responded to the fire, along with a Safety Officer, and the Rehab Unit from the Citrus Springs Fire Station.
