Fire destroys Hernando home
At 6:05 am on Sunday, September 19, 2021, Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to a residence on E. Fishermans Ln. in Hernando, Florida due to the report of a fire.
Firefighrters arrived on scene to find an approximately 200 square foot single wide mobile home engulfed in flames. A small mobile home to the left of the home on fire was exposed to extreme heat, and firefighters also directed efforts to cool and protect the home. The home on fire was not occupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. The fire was under control at 6:13 am, and the last unit cleared the scene at 9:18 am. The power was disconnected from residence.
The home was a total loss. The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene to investigate the fire.
Firefighters from the Hernando, Pine Ridge, and Kensington fire stations responded to the scene.
