One person receives minor injuries at N. Clamdigger Ter., Inglis, FL house fire

Citrus County Fire Rescue 

Inglis, Florida - Early Thursday morning, July 1, 2021 at 4:17 am, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential house fire on N. Clamdigger Terrace in Inglis. Engine 9 from DeRosa Fire Station was the first unit to arrivedon scene at 4:34 am, with Battalion Chief 2 arriving shortly after at 4:36 am. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a double wide mobile home with heavy smoke coming from the eves and front door. The fire was located at the rear of the residence. 

All occupants safely exited the residence. The power was disconnected at the power pole. The Engine 9 crew made entry through the front door and conducted fire knockdown. Crews verified with several searches that no occupants remained inside the home. A Thermal Imaging Camera was used to check for hidden fire and opening the ceiling.

The homeowner advised firefighters that he awakened to find smoke inside the home, and he got his family outside. He said he later found the laundry room fully involved with fire.

One person was transported by Nature Coast EMS to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The Florida State Fire Marshal’s office was contacted to investigate the fire. The power company disconnected the power and removed the meter. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced occupants. The report stated that the home had no smoke detectors. The fire was called under control at 4:46 am, and crews cleared the scene at 6:55 am. 
      
Other fire stations and personnel that assisted with the fire included Rescue 7 from Connell Heights, Engine 3 from Homosassa, Safety Captain 103, and Engine 14 from Citrus Springs.
