Home unoccupied; no injuries reported
On Friday, July 17, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire on W. Oliver St. in Homosassa. The Homosassa Fire Station Engine 3 crew arrived first on scene at 4:17 pm to find a 650 square foot residence fully involved in fire. Power lines were down on the side of the home. However, there was no power to the home, and the meter had previously been removed.
The fire was deemed under control at 4:25 pm, and crews cleared the scene at 6:14 pm. The home was not occupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Other fire stations stat assisted with the fire included Sugarmill Woods, Kensington, Pine Ridge, and Citrus Springs.
