Early morning Inverness house fire confined to garage, with no injuries

Inverness, Florida - At 3:48 am on March 24, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched a fire reported to a house located on E. Hobson Ln. in Inverness. The caller advised there was smoke coming from the garage, and all the occupants were safely outside of the home.
Engine 8 from the Highlands Fire Station arrived on scene first at 4:06 am to find an approximately 1,500 square foot, single story residence, approximately 40% involved with fire at the garage. Crews began an offensive attack and quickly knocked down the fire and then made entry into the home by way of the front door. Searches were made to verify that the home was unoccupied, and no one was located inside the residence. The fire was called under control at 4:38 am, and drews cleared the scene at 8:04 am. No injuries were reported.
Other personnel and fire stations that assisted with the fire included Battalion Chief 1, Engine 23 from Kensington, Engine 5 from Hernando, Tanker 7 from Connell Heights, Engine 24 from Floral City, and the Rehab Unit from Citrus Springs.
