Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) issued an executive order to reopen recreational harvest of greater amberjack in Gulf of Mexico state waters from May 1 through May 31, 2024, consistent with the federal reopening.
The FWC is opening harvest in state waters to be consistent with the federal season, and also to provide additional harvest opportunities for recreational fishermen. NOAA Fisheries (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administratio) is opening harvest in Gulf federal waters because landings indicate the recreational quota for greater amberjack has not been met.
