Recreational harvest of hogfish closes, Nov. 1, in waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Keys

The recreational harvest of hogfish will close in state and federal waters off the east coast of Florida in the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Keys, including Cape Sable, Florida, starting Nov. 1, 2023; the last day of the season is October 31. This closure includes all state and federal waters south of Cape Sable - the southernmost point of the United States, located in southwestern Florida on the Gulf of Mexico and up the Atlantic Ocean coast.
The recreational harvest season of Florida hogfish in state and federal waters of the Atlantic and the Florida Keys is open from May 1 through October 31.
Recreational harvest remains open in state and federal waters north of Cape Sable in the Gulf of Mexico.
