In January 2023, the Florida State Parks Foundation announced its 30th anniversary celebration, which included a message from Foundation President Tammy Gustafson to the organization's friends and supporters.

Don Philpott, a former Foundation board president and current board member emeritus, has devoted decades to Florida State Parks and is a constant fixture at his beloved Wekiwa Springs State Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Philpott is sharing his perspective on the Foundation's history, and why its work to preserve, protect, sustain and grow Florida's award-winning state parks is so important. See his video here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkzk1ruyHn8.

Don's love for nature and Florida State Parks led him to become a Foundation member. At a statewide meeting last month, Don received the Florida State Parks Gold Medal Award for 30,000 hours of volunteer service in the parks. But you don't have to contribute 30,000 hours to make a lasting impact in Florida's state parks. By becoming a member of the Florida State Parks Foundation, you make a major contribution that will help Florida's parks be the best they can be for current and future generations!
