Boat ramps along the Suwannee River in Levy County re-opened on noon of Thurday, March 25, as the Suwannee River has fallen to levels that no longer endanger homes and docks along the waterway.

The re-opened boat ramps are Clay Landing, Camp Azalea and Fowlers Bluff, in Chiefland, Florida:
Clay Landing, 11850 NW 130th St., Chiefland, FL
Camp Azalea (Lower Clay Landing), 4591 NW County R Rd. 347, Chiefland, FL
Fowlers Bluff, 15253 NW 46th Ln., Chiefland, FL

Boaters are cautioned to navigate the river with extreme caution, as receding flood waters flush debris, such as floating logs, into the navigation channels. The debris is difficult to see and could cause damage to the vessel and injury to the boaters.

Remember to wear your PFD’s (personal floatation devices or life jackerts) while underway, and use safe boating practices!
