Alabama fugitive captured in Fanning Springs

Fanning Springs, Florida - On Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Fanning Springs, detectives with the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) arrested 30 year-old Adam William Hart of Marion Junction, Alabama on a Dallas County Alabama arrest warrant.  

Hart was wanted by authorities in Alabama on charges of sodomy in the first degree and sexual abuse of a child younger than the age of 12. However, Hart fled from Alabama to avoid arrest. 

The detective assigned to the case in Alabama tracked Hart to Levy County and contacted the LCSO Criminal Investigations Division. Based on information provided by the Alabama detective, LCSO detectives located Hart's vehicle and the motel where he was registered . 

LCSO detectives set up surveillance on Hart, who had changed his appearance by shaving his head and beard. He had also removed the Lexus emblem from his Lexus vehicle and replaced it with a Toyota emblem, in an attempt to throw authorities off his track. 
 
Hart will remain in custody at the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida, awaiting extradition to Alaba
ma.
