February 8, 2023 - Citrus County Fire Rescue (CCFR) made a monumental accomplishment this week, as they placed a third high performance rescue vehicle into service.

“It is an exciting day to be able to excel and continue to improve our EMS services for our county,” said Citrus County Fire Chief Craig Stevens.

CCFR operates one rescue unit out of each of the ten career fire stations throughout the county. This unit will help the two previouslly existing High Performanc Units assist with peak performance times in the busiest areas of the county.

“The addition of this unit will help our excellent response team to better serve the citizens and visitors of Citrus County,” said County Administrator Steve Howard.
